English Comp 2

This class was interesting. We had to either make a scrapbook or keep a blog on things that we talked about in class. We could either keep a blog or a journal over the short stories that we read. We learned how our teacher thought someone was after him and how he invented the snack wrap. His stories that he shared were always interesting. We only had to write one paper compared to my english class last semester. We wrote more papers but they were shorter. This one paper we wrote this semester adds up to the ones last semester. We even got to watch "Borat!"

Plan B

I think that Plan B should not be permitted. It is only 89% effective. There are other things that can be done that protect more against pregnancy. Most of the other ways have a better percentage rate of protection. Older more mature people can afford these other things. This is going to cause teenagers to think it's okay because they will think they can just go get the morning after pill. This will cause more teenagers to get pregnant.

No School

There was only one day this winter that school was closed. One day that school was still in session it should have been closed. Every school was already closed by morning. High schools were closed the night before. I had still drove to school which is about 20 minutes. It was horrible, I almost went in the ditch I don't know how many times. I couldn't even turn onto other roads because of ruts from the other cars. It was a blizzard that night. I was so scared driving but I had a test that day. My dad offered to drive me because he has four wheel drive versus the Mercury Sable I use to drive.

Argumentative vs. Informative

There are two main types of research papers. These include argumentative or informative. I think reading arguementative papers are the most interesting because there is always more than one side. You get to hear different opinions on the paper and what other people think. Informative are also interesting, but not so much. You can learn more details on a certain subject and also things that you never knew.

Minimum Wage

Minimum wage in Michigan should be increased. Most jobs that I see where people are getting paid minimum wage, are held by teenagers in school. At my job i work very hard and i know I am not earning what i should be. I should also earn more because I work night and weekends, when we are mostly busy. I should also earn more because no one I work with ever seems to want to pick up a night or give up one of there day shifts to the other workers. It's very hard to work along with going school. I only earn enough money to pay for basically gas and I use that to get to school.

Research Paper

There are many factors to consider when writting a research paper. First you need your topic question, while finding a source. There are many different types of sources you can use. This can include books, interenet, and journals. You can also conduct polls, survey people, interview someone, or do an observation. Observations can be the most interesting because you never know what you will find. Polls, surveys, and interviews need to involve the right type of people or they can be false or misleading.

"Natural Cures"

I wrote my research paper on the book titled "More Natural Cures Revealed." The book was written by Kevin Trudeau. This book talks about how the drug companies and food manufacturers do not want people in society to know about these "natural cures" because it takes money away from them. After all why would they want to loose their billions of dollars? An internet source that I found says how drugs that are on the market seem to be having more and more side effects as the years go on. These side effects that the drugs have are getting more and more severe. In the book, the author talks about how it is impossible for the sun to cause cancer if it is such a necessity for survival. After all depression, stress, headaches, weight gain, and common colds are all caused in part from not getting enough sun. Some of the facts written in the book are true but others have not necessarily been proven yet. This book is interesting to read because it makes you think.
